The Lennox SunSource™ Home Energy System is a new solar-powered central heating and cooling system that reduces overall household electricity consumption without the costs associated with traditional solar installations.
 The Lennox Sunsource XPG20 Solar-Assisted Heat Pump provides the ultimate in energy efficiency and environmental responsibility by using a solar panel to supply free renewable electrical energy to the heat pump, thereby minimizing both heating and air conditioning costs. This expandable solar-assisted system allows you to add solar panels to your system for maximum energy savings and the potential to sell excess power back to your electrical grid!
The Lennox Sun Source Comfort System is the first viable product to combat both of these concerns. By reducing dependency on outsourced electrical  usage, the Sun Source Comfort System will both lower your utility bill and lower your carbon footprint for future generations! During summer months, it works like an air conditioner. It extracts heat from inside your home and transfers it to the outdoor air.
When the weather's cooler, it does the exact opposite, taking heat from outside and moving it inside. For optimal comfort and efficiency, a Lennox® heat pump can be combined with a gas furnace in one dual-fuel system.
The SunSource Home Energy System is composed of:
- A solar-ready, high efficiency Lennox air conditioner or heat pump that has been specially enhanced to serve as the platform for this new home energy system.
- A Lennox solar subpanel that provides the connection between utility- interactive solar power system and the HVAC unit.
- One to 15 roof-mounted solar modules that harness clean, sustainable energy from the sun and use it to run the home’s central heating and cooling system as well as other appliances – the more modules, the more homeowners can reduce their utility costs.
- A communications system that allows homeowners to monitor each solar module’s operation and energy production online, as well as other environmental benefits such as the amount of carbon offset.
